The combination of basil and lemon may sound strange for a smoothie but it is refreshingly delicious. With the holidays upon us, this smoothie cuts through all that sugar-overload you may be experiencing. I taste-tested this one with my kids who raved about it! With guesses like apple, parsley and grapes, they couldn’t quite figure out what was in it…but they wanted more! I love the bright green color from the basil and spinach.
- makes 2 servings (~ 2 C.)
- 1 C. lemon sorbet
- 6 oz. soy vanilla yogurt (optional for creaminess)
- 1 C. spinach
- 1 small handful fresh basil leaves
- 1 C. almond milk
- 2 Tb. lemon juice
- 1 C. ice
- Blend all ingredients until completely smooth. Garnish with lemon slice and fresh basil. Serve immediately.
