All About Amy’s Organics and A Giveaway!

True, there’s nothing like a homemade, healthy meal.  But sometimes when you’re over scheduled, pressed for time or just don’t feel like cooking, you need some help.  That’s where Amy’s Organics comes in!  I can’t tell you how many times my kids and I have been walking aimlessly up and down the grocery aisle at 5pm brainstorming what we’re having for dinner that night!  Many times we’ll grab Amy’s frozen black bean burritos, a bag of frozen veggies and call it a night (okay, so maybe I’ll grab a bottle of wine for myself…only the red organic varieties, of course).

For those of you who don’t know, Amy’s is a family owned company offering up pizzas, snacks, veggie burgers, soups, pasta sauces, Indian meals, pot pies, burritos and much, much more.  What I love is many of their items are vegan and gluten-free.  They’re careful to manufacture all products without peanuts, fish, shellfish or eggs.  For people suffering from food allergies, they have many tasty options.  (No, I’m not getting paid to say this stuff, I’m a fan myself and they agreed to giveaway some freebies!)

Amy’s was kind enough to send me some of their fun and healthy organic products to try.  Of course my boys and I are true vegans, refraining from cheese (as hard as that is for ME) so we like their vegan goodies. But Amy’s wide variety of products are also perfect for folks who are teetering on the edge of vegetarianism or veganism.  The meals are tasty enough for kids palettes and healthy enough for the adults to sneak a bite or two.

I’m a huge fan of their Enchilada With Spanish Rice & Beans, which is vegan and gluten-free.  Amy’s has an extensive list of vegan goods too like baked ziti, toaster pops, tofu scramble (great for a quick breakfast) and pot pies (which I haven’t tried yet but they look amazing).

vegan shepherd’s pie & organic chocolate cakes!
